Born in Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan. Graduated from California State University, East Bay, in 1993 with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics. Joined a manufacturing company the same year. In 1998, joined Dell Technologies. In 2000, joined F5 Networks Japan and was appointed President and Vice President of the U.S. headquarters in 2006. In 2011, joined Amazon Web Services Japan (AWS) as the country leader. At AWS, spearheaded the development of Japan's cloud market from scratch, contributing to the creation of nearly 4,000 jobs, investments worth several trillion yen in Japan, and the digital transformation and innovation of Japanese enterprises and the public sector over a span of 12 and a half years. Assumed the current position in April 2024.
